April 2026 Newsletter

Hello Followers!

We flew from March straight into April! Hello, crazy temperatures! I don't know how it’s been where you live, but here in east central Illinois, we can be in the 70’s one minute and then about 30 min later clear down in the 40’s! Yikes!

I think we’re finally turning a corner, though, and getting off of this rollercoaster.

Below is just a little bit of what’s been going on in our part of the world, including upcoming shows and a few of our newest cup designs.

He is Risen!!

If you've followed us for any length of time, you know we are a faith-based business. We know Resurrection Sunday has come and gone, but we didn’t want to bypass it. We’d like to take this opportunity to express our deep need for our Savior and how so very thankful we are for all that He has done, is doing, and will do for us.

New Designs!

We love being creative and coming up with unique Rural Girl style designs! Below are some examples of our custom creations.

These cups were an adventure to do! We were going for a rusty, galvanized metal look. What do you think? They were definitely a labor of love, as it wasn’t a quickly done background.

Pictured on a 20oz curved tumbler.

Here’s another variation.

It’s the hand-painted faux-galvanized background with a cool, distressed Purina decal applied.

This was done on a 12oz mug.

This design will always be a favorite and fits perfectly with the start of gardening season! Hannah did a fabulous job hand-drawing these veggies and then turned them into some fun design elements.

The hydro sport says “Eat Local” and would be perfect for your Saturday morning Farmer’s Market adventures.

The cup was a custom order that we did on a 30oz curved tumbler using the same design elements.

Around The Farm

Sometimes Rural Girls looks a little less like emails, bookwork, processing orders, or creating new designs and more like this……

Back in February, Hannah was keeping an eye on Dad’s milk cow for him while he was at work. Elsie is a sweet old cow and had her calf just fine. However, when Hannah and Jen checked on her a while later, they thought that she was possibly having another one!

Even Dad has said that she looked pretty big before calving.

After staying with her for a good bit, we all determined that we needed to check her since she hadn’t cleaned out and seemed a little off. Katie drew the short straw. Nope. No twin.

We updated Dad again and agreed that we should give her some calcium, as milk fever was a concern.

Thankfully, Mama and baby girl are doing just fine, and Dad was thankful that we were there when he couldn’t be.

Mama is a jersey, and baby girl is a jersey/highland cross. Here’s a picture of her from a couple of days ago. She’s about two months old now.

Rural Girls is more than just the name of our business; it’s who we are and who we’ll always be.

We hope everyone had a great month, and we look forward to sharing more designs, event updates, and general happenings around the farmstead.

We greatly appreciate each and every one of you!

We love doing what we do at Rural Girls, and we’ll continue just as long as the Lord allows.
