May/June 2026 Newsletter

May was a beautifully full month!

Yes, it had stressful, busy moments, but if one keeps the right perspective, one can see the good in the midst of them.

It has continued to be crazy windy here most days, but I, for one, have loved the cooler spring-like weather.

We’ve just finished up with June, and we’ve been so busy that we missed last month’s newsletter. Oops. Below is just a little bit of what’s been going on in our part of the world, including upcoming shows and a few of our newest cup designs.

Remember!!

Here at Rural Girls, Memorial Day has always been seen as more than a day off work.

More than a day for parties, picnics, and barbecues. Growing up, we were always reminded that Memorial Day was just that: a day set aside to remember.

To remember how our country started. To remember the wars that have been fought both here and abroad. To remember the stories of those who gave so much and to continue saying the names of those who never came home.

It’s Show Season!

It’s Junk in the Trunk season!

Come find us at The Gathering for the annual Junk in the Trunk outdoor flea market.

You never know what you’ll find there, and we’re hoping for a dry, sun-filled day!

We'll have our custom, powder-coated tumblers and a few other handmade creations.

Make sure you click "going" to get updates on what we'll have and where to find us.

July 25th, 2026, from 9am-2pm

Be sure to find the event on our Facebook page and click “going” to get updates on what we’ll have and where to find us at the show.

Rural Girl Adventures

and

New Designs!

We love being creative and coming up with unique Rural Girl style designs! Below are some examples of our custom creations.

Our family absolutely loves visiting flea markets and antique stores. One of our favorite events started up for the season back in May. The 3rd Sunday Market is always a fun time, and you never know what you’ll find there.

Here’s a brand-new design inspired by our love of old crocks and a new powder color we didn’t quite know what to do with!

This textured powder color so beautifully mimics the look of stoneware. Hannah gathered inspiration from some old crocks here at home and those seen online, or at shows, and hand-painted these awesome designs. They’re perfect!

These were done on a 14oz curved mug and a 64oz pitcher.

Below is another fun design that came from some vintage seed packets that we bought a year or so ago at 3rd Sunday. We think it turned out so perfectly on this 20oz skinny tumbler!

Around The Farm

Sometimes Rural Girls looks a little less like emails, bookwork, processing orders, or creating new designs and more like this……

Our garden is kicking into full gear, and we currently have an aboundance of cucumbers. We’re hoping to can a good amount of sweet relish using our Grandma’s recipe.

We’ve also harvested a decent amount of broccoli, and praise the Lord, they haven’t been decimated by cabbage worms!

The end of June was also our county fair.

Fair week is full of good memories spent in the barns, exhibiting 4-H projects, and getting sick on carnival rides! haha. We wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything and never miss out on heading up to the fair whenver we can.

Rural Girls is more than just the name of our business; it’s who we are and who we’ll always be.

We hope everyone is having a great summer so far, and we look forward to sharing more designs, event updates, and general happenings around the farmstead.

We greatly appreciate each and every one of you!

We love doing what we do at Rural Girls, and we’ll continue just as long as the Lord allows.
